
Ken Methold graduated from the University of London as a teacher, specialising in primary education, speech and drama.
He taught for 5 years in the UK before joining the British Council for an assignment in Thailand. At the end of his contract he established his own business in Bangkok, Asia Books, which he sold when he joined Longman, the publishers for which he travelled widely throughout Asia.
He migrated to Australia in l974. He became actively involved in arts politics and served as the Chairman or Acting Chairman of the Australian Society of Authors for 5 years.
He was one of the founding Directors of Copyright Agency Ltd - the photocopying fee collection body - and he initiated the successful campaign to get Educational Lending Right for Australian authors.
He has been a member of the B.A. (Professional Writing) degree accreditation committee of the University of Canberra, a playwright in residence at the University of Southern Queensland, and a guest lecturer on a number of occasions at The National Playwright's Conference.
